NEMESIS STRIKE — TRY IT!

Xbox Nemesis Strike

Third-person shooter (TPS) game by Asobo Studio, Nemesis Strike is the fight against counter terrorism on global level. TPS is basically an action video game where the character is actually present and visible on the screen. It is a popular niche of 3D action games and mostly consists of shooting action between players or teams. Based on popular series like Counter Terrorism Special Forces and GBA, this game is also referred to as CT Special Forces: Fire for Effect.

In Nemesis Strike, the player is part of an anti-terrorist group with the sole aim of putting end to plans of evil Nemesis group. Nemesis is an evil group that plans to take over and destroy the world. There are two heroes in the game and player can either play as ‘Immortal’ Raptor or ‘Stealth’Owl. Both of these are elite CTSF (Counter Terrorist Special Forces) operatives. Raptor favors close combat and powerful weapons while Owl has skydiving, infiltration and accuracy skills. Both enter the enemy territory and have vehicular sequences like jeep or boats. Extremely masculine, Raptor has a weapon that can fire four people-seeking missiles in a single go. The health bar on top left corner shows the health available for that player. When bullets touch Raptor, it decreases his energy shield that can be recharged at electrical booths marked on the map with a blue dot. Just like vehicles, there are several weapons like knives and solid turrets; the availability of weapons depends on the hero you choose as player – Stealth Owl or ‘Immortal’ Raptor.

An action-oriented game, the prime focus here is on quick action rather than making strategy or sneaking around in places. But, few Xbox players find it difficult to line up a shot with the thumbstick control. Gamers also share the opinion that game characters are bulky, take much of the screen space and also animate stiffly. It makes the game dull and uninteresting for adventure seeking gamers. Also, Nemesis Strike is a single player game and does not offer any multi-player option. So, some players term it as clunky and lengthy for a single player.

Though not one of the top order Xbox games, Nemesis strike is surely a must try for any action game lover mainly for its cheap price tag.
